Depriest Gray

A jail escape occurred early this morning at the Clay County Detention Center. Escaping was Depriest Gray, age 30. Gray was being held on a court order and had appeared in Clay County Circuit Court this past week. He was awaiting transport back to the Mississippi Department of Corrections. Gray is 5-9 in height and approximately 167 lbs.

Sheriff Eddie Scott stated a preliminary report showed the offender escaped by breaking through expanded metal in the ceiling. Clay County Sheriff’s Office is being assisted in locating this individual by all area law enforcement agencies, Mississippi Department of Corrections and the U.S. Marshals.
