Clay County, Mississippi - March 4, 2024 -

Sheriff Eddie Scott of Clay County, Mississippi, reports that just after midnight on the morning of March 3, 2024, that a shooting occurred at the Oasis, a night club in Clay County. Sheriff Scott confirms that 12 individuals were shot with 1 death.

The incident, which unfolded at The Oasis has prompted an immediate and comprehensive investigation by the Clay County Sheriff's Office, West Point Police Department, ATF, Homeland Security, members of the DPS Violent Crimes Task Force and the Highway Patrol.

Sheriff Scott stated that the event at the Oasis Club was put on by an out-of-town promotor and that the majority of those attended were not from Clay County but from the surrounding area.  Investigators located multiple caliber shell casings from the scene.  The club reported having 14 security guards present for the event, yet it is unclear how guns made it inside of the club.

This is an ongoing investigation and anyone with any information is urged to contact the Clay County Sheriff's Department or Golden Triangle Crime Stoppers.
