On May 19th the Clay County Sheriff's Office in a joint operation with the West Point Police Department, the State of Mississippi Violent Crime Task Force, Mississippi Highway Patrol, Department of Wildlife & Fisheries and the Mississippi Department of Corrections conducted an operation to remove illegal firearms from our streets. Clay County Sheriff Eddie Scott stated the operation netted 14 arrests. Scott said these charges included gun crimes, drug arrests, DUI's, traffic citations and various misdemeanor and felony court warrants.
Scott said the focus of this operation was to remove illegal gun crimes such as convicted felons with weapons, illegal modified weapons and juveniles in possession of firearms. The intent of this operation was to make the community a safer place and more are to be expected in the future.

Amar Doss - WPD Bench Warrant, Possession of Weapon by a Convicted Felon
Corinne Doss - Possession of Methamphetamine
Tyrus Gandy - No Drivers License
Billy McCamey - Possession of Marijuana
James Minor - Circuit Court Capias - Attempted Burglary of a Dwelling
Breana Randle - DUI, Resisting Arrest, Speeding, Tinted Windows, Disobeying a Police Officer
Thomas Ray - Circuit Court Capias - Possession of Methamphetamine, Possession of Marijuana, Introduction of Contraband in a Correctional Facility
Jauntae Reese - Possession of Controlled Substance, Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon
Willie Robinson - WPPD Bench Warrant x 2
Kyron Taylor - DUI, Possession of Marijuana
Charles Williams - Clay County Justice Court Bench Warrant
Wesley Wilson - DUI, Driving w/Suspended License, No Insurance
