Clay County Sheriff Investigators have arrested and charged Perry Cummings, Sr. with 3 counts of animal cruelty. The charges stem from the neglect of 3 horses. Clay County Sheriff Eddie Scott stated one of the horses had to be put down by a deputy after consulting with a veterinary due to the condition of the horse. The other 2 horses were picked up by Horse Rescue of Lowndes County and were reported to be in poor condition but stable. Bond was set at $1,182.75 for Cummings.
Scott said Cummings will have a court appearance in Clay County Justice Court on August 15th.
